Welcome to our latest feature in the #MNFoodPicks series, where we highlight standout Minnesota food brands making their mark in the local culinary scene. This time, we’re excited to introduce Radish Farm Stop, a brand-new, producer-first grocery shop in Southwest Minneapolis connecting shoppers directly with the farmers and makers behind their food.
Origin & Inspiration
Radish Farm Stop has been four years in the making, and this feature is an especially fun one for us: founder Lily Gross is a former member of the IN Food Marketing & Design team! Lily first dreamed up the concept long before the doors opened, and she took the time to learn the ropes of the grocery world at Seward Community Co-op to see if it was the right fit (spoiler: it was). After finding the perfect location last September, Radish Farm Stop officially opened on July 20th, 2026. Today, the shop works with around 80 local suppliers, with plans to double that number in the next year.
A Different Kind of Grocery
Radish Farm Stop is built on a simple but powerful foundation: putting farmers and producers first. Nearly everything on the shelves comes directly from local farmers and producers, and they retain ownership of their products. For every sale, 70% goes straight to the farmer or producer, while 30% supports the store. Farmers and producers deliver their goods right to the shop, creating a more localized, transparent model that gives them a dedicated space to sell.
Berries Worth Bragging About
One product Lily is currently excited about? Strawberries from Twin Cities Berry Farm. The grower raises them in high tunnels and greenhouses, extending Minnesota’s strawberry season well beyond its usual few weeks. That’s why you can find fresh, local strawberries at Radish Farm Stop at a time of year when you’d least expect them.
Rooted in Minnesota
Lily says the customer base has been incredible from day one. Shoppers are kind, curious, and genuinely excited about what Radish Farm Stop is building, and they care deeply about where their food comes from.
That care is at the heart of what Lily hopes more people understand. “What you eat every day is probably the most important decision you can make, physically, environmentally and economically,” Lily shares. “Where you choose to get your groceries is so important.”
Find Radish Farm Stop
Radish Farm Stop is proudly old-fashioned. It’s a high-touch environment where you’re encouraged to come in, chat with the excellent team, learn where your food comes from, and experience the shop for yourself.
A few members of our IN Food team recently stopped by to see it all in person, and it’s easy to see why the community has embraced it so quickly. From the thoughtfully stocked shelves to the chance to catch up with Lily and hear the stories behind the products, the visit was a reminder of how special it is to shop local. We left with full bags, and a new favorite neighborhood stop!
Visit Radish Farm Stop at 5357 Penn Ave S in Minneapolis, open 7 AM to 6 PM Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday (closed Thursdays), with expanded hours coming soon! Follow along on Instagram @radishfarmstop and their website.
