Good, fast and healthy too?

In today’s crazy-busy world, we all have occasions where we need to eat on-the-go. The challenge? Finding fast food options that aren’t loaded with calories, fat and carbs. Here are a few delicious, healthy ways to stay on track:

Jimmy John’s Beach Club Unwich: Smoked turkey, avocado spread, provolone cheese, cucumber and tomato all rolled in a gigantic lettuce leaf. (My advice: skip the mayo and alfalfa sprouts.) JJ’s does a great job wrapping these, so they’re not horribly messy to eat. Less than 200 calories, 10 grams of fat and 9 carbs. Delicious!

Panda Express Wok Smart™ entrees with Steamed Veggies: I love, love, love the option of getting fresh steamed veggies in lieu of rice. Nothing about these says fast food, either: Tender, yet crunchy broccoli, crisp cabbage, sweet carrots and yellow zucchini comprise this colorful array. Pair them with a WOK SMART™ Entrée, and you can easily have a satisfying entrée under 250 calories, 7 grams of fat and 20 carbs.

Chipotle Salad with Chicken: Who says you have to sacrifice flavor to eat healthy? Try Chipotle’s salad topped with chicken, mild tomato and green tomatillo salsas, and fresh guacamole. (Definitely skip the calorie -and fat-laden vinaigrette – you won’t miss it.) Very filling and satisfying for under 400 calories, 20 grams of carbs and 20 grams of fat –only 4 grams saturated.
